1. Purpose

This policy outlines the terms and conditions governing student registration, tuition payments, course enrollment, withdrawals, transfers, and refunds at Lynden School ("the School").

By registering for any course or program, students and parents/guardians acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.


2. Registration and Enrollment

2.1 Admission and Registration

Enrollment is confirmed only when:

  • A completed application and registration package has been submitted;
  • Required supporting documentation has been received;
  • Applicable tuition and fees have been paid or approved payment arrangements have been established;
  • The School has formally accepted the student.

2.2 Course Placement

The School reserves the right to determine appropriate grade placement, course placement, credit recognition, and program eligibility based on academic records, assessment results, and Ministry requirements.

2.3 Program Changes

The School reserves the right to modify schedules, course offerings, instructional methods, teachers, and program delivery as necessary.


3. Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees may include:

  • Registration/Application Fee
  • Tuition Fee
  • Resource and Technology Fee
  • Textbook and Learning Materials Fee
  • Examination Fee
  • Transcript Processing Fee
  • Graduation Fee
  • International Student Fee (where applicable)

All fees are payable in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.


4. Payment Policy

4.1 Due Dates

Tuition and fees must be paid by the deadlines established by the School.

4.2 Late Payments

Students with overdue accounts may be subject to:

  • Late payment charges;
  • Suspension of access to classes, assessments, or learning platforms;
  • Withholding of report cards, transcripts, diplomas, and other official documents;
  • Suspension or termination of enrollment.

The School reserves the right to pursue collection of outstanding balances through appropriate legal means.


5. Withdrawal Policy

5.1 Written Notice Required

Students wishing to withdraw from a course or program must submit written notice to the School Administration.

The withdrawal date shall be the date the School receives written notification.

5.2 Ontario Ministry Reporting

The School will report withdrawals and academic progress in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education requirements.

For Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) credit courses:

  • Withdrawals before the Full Disclosure date may not appear on the Ontario Student Transcript (OST).
  • Withdrawals after the Full Disclosure date may appear on the Ontario Student Transcript in accordance with Ministry policy.

6. No Refund Policy

6.1 Tuition and Fees are Non-Refundable

All tuition fees, registration fees, application fees, deposits, administrative fees, technology fees, international student fees, and any other charges paid to Lynden School are final and non-refundable.

No refunds, credits, transfers, reductions, or cancellations will be granted under any circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Student withdrawal;
  • Voluntary course changes;
  • Transfer to another school;
  • Failure to attend classes;
  • Missed classes or examinations;
  • Academic difficulties or failure to achieve desired academic outcomes;
  • Suspension or expulsion;
  • Visa or study permit refusal;
  • Immigration status changes;
  • Medical conditions or emergencies;
  • Personal, family, employment, financial, or travel circumstances;
  • Dissatisfaction with the School, program, course, instructor, or educational experience.

Enrollment in a course or program constitutes a commitment for the applicable academic term, and all financial obligations remain the responsibility of the student and/or parent/guardian regardless of attendance or completion status.

All payments made to Lynden School are final.


7. Attendance and Academic Responsibility

Students are expected to:

  • Attend classes regularly;
  • Complete assignments, assessments, and examinations;
  • Participate actively in their courses;
  • Maintain academic integrity;
  • Follow all School policies and procedures.

Failure to attend classes does not relieve the student or parent/guardian of financial obligations.


8. Student Conduct

Students must comply with:

  • Lynden School policies and procedures;
  • Ontario Ministry of Education requirements;
  • Academic integrity standards;
  • School codes of conduct;
  • All applicable laws and regulations.

The School reserves the right to suspend, remove, or dismiss students for misconduct, academic dishonesty, harassment, threatening behaviour, or other violations of School policies.

Tuition and fees remain non-refundable in cases of suspension, removal, or dismissal.


9. Official Documents

The School may withhold:

  • Report Cards;
  • Ontario Student Transcripts (OST);
  • Graduation Documents;
  • Letters of Enrollment;
  • Transfer Documentation;
  • Any other official records or services;

until all outstanding balances and obligations to the School have been satisfied in full.


10. Limitation of Liability

Lynden School shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or financial damages arising from a student's enrollment, withdrawal, suspension, dismissal, inability to complete a program, or any changes to course offerings, schedules, instructors, or educational delivery methods.

The School makes no guarantee regarding academic performance, admission to post-secondary institutions, scholarship awards, immigration outcomes, employment opportunities, or any specific educational result.
